At Barron, Rosenberg, Mayoras & Mayoras, P.C., our priority is doing what is right for each of our clients, tailoring our legal strategies to best meet their needs and achieve their goals. While we are not focused on publicity or receiving recognition for our efforts, it is always gratifying to know that others in the profession and community see and respect our work.
Because these honors reflect our ability to serve our clients, we want to take a moment to share some of the accolades our firm and our attorneys have received, and explain what they mean for the clients who entrust their needs to us.
Multiple BRMM Attorneys Named to Michigan Super Lawyers for 2024
Super Lawyers is a rating service established in 1991 to identify outstanding attorneys in more than 70 practice areas and every U.S. state. Attorneys are typically nominated by peers or identified by the organization’s independent research team. In order to keep the process of honoring exceptional attorneys objective, attorneys cannot apply to be named a “Super Lawyer,” nor can they pay for this honor or campaign for it.
After an attorney is nominated, they are evaluated on twelve indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition, including experience, special licenses and certification, and verdicts and settlements. Each indicator carries a point value.
The candidates with the highest point totals after this stage serve on a blue ribbon panel, evaluating peers in their practice area on a scale from 1 to 5. At this point, candidates are grouped into four categories based on the size of their law firm. After a careful screening, the attorneys with the highest point totals are selected to the Super Lawyers list. Only five percent of the attorneys in each state, or less, achieve this recognition.
The BRMM attorneys who have been named to the Michigan Super Lawyers list for 2024 include Don L. Rosenberg, for Elder Law; Andrew W. Mayoras, for Estate & Trust Litigation; Jonathan M. Colman, for Estate & Trust Litigation; and Scott M. Robbins, for Elder Law.
Attorney David E. Schwartz was selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2024 for Estate Planning & Probate. Super Lawyers Rising Stars are those attorneys who have been nominated to the Super Lawyers selection process and are under 40 years of age or have been in practice for fewer than 10 years. Less than 2.5% of lawyers in a state achieve this distinction.
Andrew Mayoras Named to Super Lawyers Top 100 for Second Year
Even being nominated for consideration is an honor; being selected is an affirmation of professional skill and achievement. A select few attorneys—100 per practice area per state—are named to the Super Lawyers Top 100 list. These are the attorneys who have achieved the very highest point totals during the selection process.
BRMM is proud to announce that shareholder Andrew W. Mayoras has been named to Michigan Super Lawyers Top 100 for Estate & Trust Litigation for the second year in a row. That designation reflects Andrew’s commitment to continued growth and excellence in his areas of practice, and his dedication to achieving his clients’ goals.
BRMM Also Recognized by Best Lawyers
Best Lawyers is a peer-reviewed publication and lawyer ranking service that identifies exceptional attorneys and law firms in a wide range of practice areas. Established in 1981, Best Lawyers is an impartial organization designed to help the public and legal community identify outstanding attorneys.
As with Super Lawyers, attorneys cannot seek the designation on their own; they come under consideration for selection by Best Lawyers through peer nomination, and nominations must be supported by significant peer feedback. This feedback is confidential, ensuring that attorneys evaluating a nominee feel free to be candid.
BRMM has four attorneys who have been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers: Don Rosenberg has been recognized since 2021 for Elder Law and Trusts and Estates; Andrew Mayoras has been recognized since 2021 for Trusts and Estates Litigation; Jonathan Colman has been recognized since 2018 for Trusts and Estates Litigation; and Scott Robbins has been designated one of Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” in Elder Law and Trusts and Estates since 2021.
