Women Conquer Alzheimer’s Event

Conquer ALZ Flyer

Almost two-thirds of Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease are women. Not only are women more likely to have Alzheimer’s, but they are also more likely to be caregivers for those with the disease.

Studies consistently show that women make up 60% to 70% of all unpaid Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers. Because of these often demanding duties, women are likely to experience adverse consequences in the workplace:

● Nearly 19% of women Alzheimer’s caregivers had to quit work either to become a caregiving or because their duties became too burdensome.

● Among working women caregivers, 20% have gone from working full time to part time, compared with only 3% of working male caregivers.

● Around 18% of women caregivers have taken a leave of absence from work and 10% have lost job benefits.

BRMM Law is excited to be a sponsor for the 2nd annual Women Conquer ALZ – a celebration of women and our strength, courage and dedication to end Alzheimer’s disease. This cocktail event will shine a light on the latest in the search for a cure. Please consider joining us for a memorable evening at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on May 1st.
